RE
At Wath Victoria Primary School, our Religious Education (RE) curriculum is designed to provide our pupils with a deep and meaningful understanding of the diverse religious and non-religious traditions that shape our world. Aligned with the Rotherham Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education 2022, our RE curriculum aims to equip our pupils with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities to navigate the complex landscape of religion, belief, and worldviews.

Our RE curriculum meets the requirements of the National Curriculum by ensuring that pupils develop a secure understanding of the key beliefs, practises, and traditions of the world's major religions, including Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism. Additionally, we provide opportunities for pupils to explore non-religious worldviews, such as Humanism, to broaden their perspectives and encourage critical thinking.

By exploring the beliefs, practises, and ethical frameworks of different religions and worldviews, our pupils will develop the critical thinking skills, cultural awareness, and empathy necessary to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world. This aligns with our school's improvement priorities, which emphasise the importance of developing pupils' character, resilience, and ability to contribute positively to society.

RE is taught discretely in school through weekly lessons and key religious events are a focus of school assemblies.
