PSHE
At Wath Victoria Primary School, we have chosen to implement the JIGSAW PSHE scheme of work to deliver our Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) curriculum. This decision is underpinned by our commitment to providing a broad, balanced, and ambitious curriculum that supports the holistic development of every child, aligning with the school's vision and values of "Aspirations Soar, Kindness Shines, Everyone Belongs."

The JIGSAW scheme meets the requirements of the National Curriculum for PSHE, ensuring that our pupils are provided with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary to keep themselves healthy and safe, while also building the foundations for positive, respectful relationships. The scheme's comprehensive and progressive approach, covering key topics such as mental health, online safety, and financial education, is particularly well-suited to the needs of our pupils.

By adopting the JIGSAW scheme, we aim to provide our pupils with a challenging yet supportive PSHE curriculum that empowers them to become confident, resilient, and independent individuals. The scheme's focus on developing character, promoting positive mental health, and fostering a sense of social responsibility aligns closely with our school's improvement priorities, which include strengthening our character curriculum offer and supporting children's behaviour and wellbeing.
Lessons are delivered weekly but we use positive relationships that have been built with the wider community ( i.e. police and water safety groups) for whole school assemblies when the need is present in school.
