Geography
At Wath Victoria Primary School, we have carefully considered the design and implementation of our geography curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of our pupils and aligns with the requirements of the National Curriculum. We have chosen to use the KAPOW geography scheme of work as it provides a sequenced, progressive, and knowledge-rich curriculum that builds on previous learning.
The KAPOW geography curriculum is structured to systematically develop pupils' locational and place knowledge, human and physical geography understanding, and geographical skills. This approach ensures that our pupils gain a secure foundation of geographical knowledge and can apply this understanding to different contexts and scales as they progress through the school. The geography units are taught once a term.
